Spartan Summer Program

Once again, graduating seniors from the East Side Union High School District benefitted from the Spartan Summer Program. In June, approximately 300 students took part in this four-day college orientation designed to prepare them for academic success and campus life. Students received mentorship and guidance from university staff, insights on what to expect in college, and assistance with course registration and campus resources.
A special thank you goes to Amanda Aldama-Fernandes, who has skillfully coordinated the program for the past nine years on the San José State side. We also deeply appreciate East Side counselors Mildred Llanos-Richards and Binh Liu, who continue to serve as vital liaisons between the district and the university.
During the program, Executive Director Dan Moser and Board President Manny Barbara spoke to students about East Side Education Foundation scholarships and introduced the Spartan Ambassador Program.
Hall of Fame Dinner Honoree: Cynthia Teniente-Matson

We are proud to announce that this year’s Hall of Fame Dinner will feature a special honor for San José State University President Cynthia Teniente-Matson. President Teniente-Matson has brought inspiring energy and vision to SJSU, helping the university expand its national and international reputation for excellence.
